How to build a kitchen cabinet. The main cabinet boxes themselves i built out of 2x4s and 3 inch long screws they would not be going anywhere. Well we recently remodeled our kitchen and cut a lot of cost by building our own kitchen cabinets. Also consider using pre existing cabinet drawers and doors or even reworking old kitchen cabinets into new ones if time and basic carpentry skills are something you lack.
To build a kitchen cabinet start by cutting the side and bottom panels out of some mdf or plywood. It might seem like a large project to take on. So i thought anyone remodeling a kitchen would appreciate an article that highlighted all of the diy kitchen cabinet options.
Next glue and screw the bottom panel to the base panels and attach the side panels to the bottom. Plywood thicknesses vary though so make certain your material thickness measures a true 3 4 or adjust your part dimensions to achieve the final cabinet width. Then cut 4 panels out of 1 by 6 lumber for the base panels and top bracers and cut 4 more panels for the face of the cabinet.
For a base cabinet less than 4 wide you can cut all the parts except the back and toekick from one 3 4 4 8 sheet of plywood or mdf.
